What are the new rules for communication at work and why do we need them?  With all the turmoil and market madness lately, there’s probably no such thing as “business as usual” anymore.  New ethical and interpersonal standards are needed.

In this brief webinar, you will gain an understanding of rules and tools you can apply right away.  Some of these rules will be familiar, some more exotic.  They are all useful in certain contexts, and will leave you better prepared for what comes next.

Consider, for example, the new rule Outrageous Mutuality.  Ever find yourself in a metaphorical corner, being “talked at” by someone who is either a ridiculous narcissist or just unaware that there are actually two of you standing there?  We will invite you to take responsibility for maintaining two-way dialogue, no matter whom or what is doing the cornering.  More important than analyzing what stops you from interrupting or why you sometimes fall prey to such blabbermouths, we will suggest non-offensive things you can actually say to steer the conversation in a more satisfying direction.

"Hold still, I can see your problem…it’s the software."

The benefits of this approach are:

  • You can focus on taking positive and constructive action even when working with a complete nincompoop (they often travel in herds)
  • You feel more in charge, less stressed, more capable of dealing with adversity, with people that matter and nincompoops alike.
  • You get more done in less time with less effort
  • If you’re not already the boss, your boss or employer will be amazed and delighted with your job performance.  If you are the boss, you’ll be delighted, too.
  • You can more effectively learn, lead change and collaborate 360 degrees.
